So, who am I?

I'm your next Front End Developer, of course!

I am a self-taught Front End Developer from Columbus, Ohio. My learning journey started four years ago building a simple static webpage with FreeCodeCamp. Once I realized how much I enjoyed coding, I decided to learn more through Udemy where I earned several certificates for JavaScript, React, Advanced CSS and Sass, Node.js, and web accessibility with WCAG 2.1+.

Most of my time is spent building projects and experimenting with new features, learning a new language and implementing it into projects, and spending time on StackOverflow looking for solutions.

When I'm not sifting through documentation you'll find me hiking/running my favorite trails and parks around Ohio, reading an exciting thriller novel, hanging out with my cat, Craig, or just taking it easy playing some of my favorite video games.

Technical Skills

React is my go-to JavaScript library. Breaking down components into smaller, isolated pieces of code has helped to maintain my code bases and reduce the amount of repetition within my JS files.

JavaScript. My first real introduction to making the web dynamic. Through Udemy I learned the basics, and many advanced techniques that I use frequently in my projects.

I first started learning HTML with FreeCodeCamp, and it taught me about the importance of semantic HTML. My first projects had me thinking I was on top of the world, and wow how wrong I was.

Seeing my first web page come to life with CSS was awesome. I decided to learn more through an advanced CSS course on Udemy, and it took my styling to a whole new level.

Node.js helped me to better understand how the client and server communicate. Seeing my first RESTful API work felt like magic. It is my primary backend language when building projects.

Sass was my first time venturing away from standard CSS. It taught me about architecture in code bases, the BEM naming convention, and reducing the amount of repetition within my stylesheets.

MongoDB was my first introduction to noSQL databases and databases in general. It is the primary DB I use in my projects.

Not sure what to put for Vue yet...
